Your negotiating team would like to thank all the members who joined our bargaining town hall meeting on August 19. About 200 members attended the town hall, and we are greatly encouraged by your support and solidarity.
The town hall began with a bargaining update from the negotiating team, followed by a Q & A session. Members were enthusiastic about the bargaining update and had a lot of questions about our demands at the table, the bargaining process, and about the right to strike.
Attendees overwhelmingly supported our demands for better pay and job security. Members also received a progress report on our essential services agreement.
We encourage all members to keep informed with bargaining as we move forward. We need to show the employer that we are united, and that means we need to stay engaged by supporting our negotiating team—and each other.
AUPE is in an unprecedented year of bargaining, with over 82,000 members at the table. We must stand together to win the wages, benefits, and working conditions we deserve.

Your negotiating team will meet with mediator Rick Wilson and the employer on October 2 & 3 for informal mediation.
Show your solidarity! Wear red on October 2 & 3 to support us. You can also take photos of you and your coworkers wearing red to show off your solidarity, then send your photos to photos@aupe.org and we will post them on AUPE’s social media.
