Your negotiation team had positive, constructive and productive conversations with the employer at our April 8-10 meetings.
Most non-monetary articles were signed off as current, except for the following items where we improved language.
Article 6: No Discrimination & Article 30: Corrective Discipline and Performance Improvement
The timeline for investigations has changed from 90 days to 60 days. Extensions would be limited to 14 days, maximum, as would any further extensions.
Article 20: Transportation
Members will be reimbursed if they have to travel from work to perform their duties. We will be reimbursed at the rate set by Canada Rev Agency, currently $0.72/km for the first 5,000 km and $0.66/km over 5,000 km.
Article 32: Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
Committee members will now be paid appropriately for all OH&S meetings held outside normal working hours. For example, members’ wages would include shift differential pay or weekend premiums as per Articles 15 and 16.
Wage negotiations stall – but not for long
We discussed our wages but could not agree with what the employer put on the table.
We are doing the same type of work as Alberta Health Services members – and deserve equal pay for equal value. Your bargaining committee believes it’s in our best interest to wait to see the outcome of negotiations at the AHS table and demand the same from Touchmark.
For more information, you can review the ingoing proposals from your union and employer below.
