Your negotiating team met March 11, 12, and 13 to work on our proposals for bargaining.
We would like to thank all members who filled out our bargaining survey. We create proposals based on your priorities, and we are happy to report that you have given us a clear mandate.
Currently, we are working on any unclear language and enhancing key monetary items.
We are scheduled to meet with the employer on May 8 and 9. Not only will this meeting provide a crucial opportunity to make our priorities known, it will also allow us to begin open conversations.
Our primary goal is to secure improved wages and benefits for all members. Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides deserve wages that reflect increased workloads, rising cost-of-living, and inflation. We deserve total compensation equality with Albertans performing the same job classifications across the province. We are in this together.
Thank you again to everyone who completed the survey. We could not do this without your participation and opinions.
Remember that your current collective agreement is still in effect. If you feel it’s not being followed, or if you’re having problems at work, please talk to a Union Steward or reach out to AUPE’s Members’ Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284 and ask to speak with your Membership Services Officer.
Please contact a member of your negotiating team if you have any questions.
