Improved language on items including disciplinary action
Your negotiations team met with the employer again on Thursday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13, to discuss non-monetary items in the next collective bargaining agreement.
They were able to sign off on clarifying the language on some items.
The most notable of these was on Article 28 on Disciplinary Action. The two sides agreed to language that will improve the information given to members who are the subject of a workplace investigation, and quickened the process.
Other items on which there was agreement included:
- Article 31 Casual, Illness;
- Article 32 General, Illness;
- Supplement 1 (former Supplement 2);
- Letter of Understanding (LOUs) 19, 20 and 21;
- Sub 1 NEW LOUs 4, 5 (work schedules for Kananaskis and Sikome Lake); and
- Sub 2 LOU 2 (joint advisory committee change to read it will meet “at least quarterly”).
Talks are scheduled to resume on Nov. 24 and 25. The discussion will continue to focus on non-monetary items including the grievance process and the language around layoffs and recalls.
Please stay tuned to the website and your email inboxes for further developments.
