This is not the Covenant Health we have bargained with in the past.
Your team met with the employer on May 14 to continue bargaining, but we made almost no progress.
Covenant Health’s behaviour is shocking. It is clear they are not interested in finding solutions or improving our working conditions. Your team felt downright insulted by the employer’s responses to the issues we raised.
At one point, the employer simply stopped responding to what we had to say.
If Covenant Health refuses to address our proposals, your team is prepared to move on to discussing the wage increases and other monetary improvements we deserve. We demanded the employer come to the table ready to discuss monetary proposals at our next bargaining meetings.
Wear red June 6 and 7
Our next bargaining meetings are June 6 and 7. Wear red on these days to show your support! We appreciate your solidarity and the strong message it sends the employer.
Take wear-red selfies with your coworkers, send them to photos@aupe.org to be shared on AUPE’s social media.
Urgent Bargaining Town Halls
AUPE’s Time for Action bargaining town halls are happening throughout June and all members are invited. Please visit the town hall website for details on the town hall nearest you.
You will also receive email invitations, shareable posters, and timely reminders to ensure everyone has the chance to attend. All AUPE members are encouraged to join these urgent town halls.
Please contact a member of your negotiating team if you have any questions.
