We came to the table with a number of ingoing proposals that reflect our valid concerns. The employer did not come prepared with ingoing proposals or respond to ours.
Park Place Seniors Living thinks our current collective agreement doesn’t need to be updated, and they assumed we felt the same way because they haven’t received formal complaints from staff.
Moving forward in bargaining, we hope the employer shows more respect for the negotiations process. Our collective agreement gives us an equal voice in the workplace. It means we can negotiate protections for ourselves both before and after our wellbeing is compromised; we don’t have to wait for our working conditions to suffer before making them better.
You are the frontline experts on your work. You work with seniors face-to-face and deserve to have your voice heard.
The employer says it’s unlikely they will be able to meet with us again to continue bargaining until mid-to-late August.
Until them, if you have any questions please contact your bargaining team:
