We were equally thrilled to share our good fortune by donating that $40 to the Vegreville food bank. To make things even better, Rod Kusiek, chair of AUPE Local 47, donated another $47 on behalf of his local.
That’s kinda what we do. It’s kinda what unions do. We take care of each other.
It’s been a great Centennial year for our union in 2019. Along with celebration BBQs all over the province, we’ve also taken our Centennial float to many parades and won other awards:
• Ponoka Stampede: Best Professional;
• Calgary Stampede Non Profit; and
• Edmonton K-Days: Outstanding Non-Profit.
There are still three more parades to go. Why not celebrate 100 years of our union making life better for all Albertans by coming to volunteer to walk with, or cheer on watch our great Centennial float at:
• Westlock Annual Fair: August 16;
• Lethbridge Whoop-Up Day: August 20; and
• Calgary Pride: September 1.
