In the summer of 2018, Greyhound Canada announced it was eliminating all but one of its intercity passenger bus and freight routes in Western Canada. By October 2018, about 300 bus routes, exclusive to Greyhound, that had tied rural Canadians to their metropolitan neighbours for years were gone, leaving a gap in the country’s social fabric that threatened to isolate some of our most marginalized communities.
