EDMONTON—Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) working for Extendicare Eaux Claires will rally today (Friday, Sept. 24) at 2:30 p.m. in defiance of the insulting rollbacks Extendicare wants to enact through bargaining.
“Extendicare has decided to treat these pandemic heroes like zeroes,” says AUPE Vice-President Mike Dempsey, who will attend the rally this afternoon. “The pandemic has put continuing care workers through hell. Extendicare should be offering its staff improvements at the bargaining table, not trying to tear them down.”
Media is invited to attend the rally. Masks and social distancing are required for all participants.
