PWL Drayton Valley: Employer’s wage offer is not good enough

Bargaining update for Local 047 Chapter 006, Points West Living Drayton Valley

Apr 29, 2025

Your team applies for mediation

Text only block

Your negotiating team met with PWL Drayton Valley on March 26.

The employer asked to continue negotiations ahead of our mediation dates. We were hopeful that this was a sign the employer was prepared to make a fair deal, but this was not the case.

Instead, PWL gave us an insulting three-year wage offer:

Jan. 11, 2023: 1.75%
Jan. 11, 2024: 1.25%
Jan. 11, 2025: 1.25%

Small wage increases like this are not nearly good enough––we are worth more and are prepared to fight for the wages and benefits we deserve.

After receiving the employer’s wage offer, we are certain that we need a mediator to help us reach a settlement for our first collective agreement.

Your team and the employer have now settled on a mediator and are working to schedule mediation dates.

Red is your colour
