Progress at Whitehorn Village is good news for Swan Evergreen
The employer has recently ratified the mediator's recommendations at Whitehorn Village, which is a positive development for our negotiations at Swan Evergreen. Read more about the monetary improvements achieved at Whitehorn.
Our colleagues at Whitehorn have successfully negotiated their collective agreement, and our focus now is to achieve the same for Swan Evergreen, keeping in mind the general service members as well.
It is important to note that the mediator’s recommendations did not award Whitehorn Village full retroactivity. If the mediator issues the same recommendations for Swan Evergreen members, the employer’s continuous delays mean we are being denied 97.5% of what we are owed until an agreement is reached.
Since October 17, the date the employer at Whitehorn ratified the recommendations, we have been working with the mediator to schedule a return to the bargaining table for Swan Evergreen, so that we can finalize our prolonged negotiation.
We have expressed to the employer our availability for evenings, weekends and all possible dates to expedite this process. Unfortunately, we are facing challenges with the employer in setting dates. Rest assured that we are committed to resolving this longstanding issue. We understand that you haven't received any raises in years, and the rising inflation is making it difficult to make ends meet.
We will continue to pursue all options available to us to push this matter forward. Your union stands with you in this fight for fair compensation and is prepared to work with you to put more pressure on this employer.
