Local 039 approves terms proposed by mediator
AUPE members employed by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) have voted to approve the terms of a new collective agreement recommended by a mediator.
Highlights of the agreement include wage raises of 1.25 per cent on April 1, 2023, and 1.5 per cent on Dec. 1, 2023. There will be an additional 0.5 per cent on Dec. 1, 2023, if certain economic conditions in Alberta are met.
There are also improvements to personal-leave days and bereavement days; a new lay-off article that has lay-offs being done by reverse seniority; improved language on reclassification; and new language on over and under payment.
