Download the Rolyn Sumlak Award nomination form. The deadline to submit nominations is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
“Occupational health and safety affects us all,” says AUPE Vice-President Bonnie Gostola, who chairs the union’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee. “Even if we do not personally encounter OH&S issues at work, we owe a debt to those who have helped make our workplaces as safe as they are.”
The Rolyn Sumlak Award was first awarded in 1990. Local 012 commissioned the award in memory of our brother Rolyn Sumlak, a Local 012 member who was tragically killed on the job.
This prestigious award is given to one or more AUPE members annually. The award recognizes members’ dedication to occupational health and safety and honours Rolyn and all workers injured or killed at work.
The successful nominee(s) will receive the award in April as part of AUPE’s Day of Mourning Ceremony.
