Voting to take place on Oct. 14 at the work site
A tentative agreement has been reached for a new collective-bargaining agreement with Newport Harbour Care Centre.
Your negotiating team met the employer on Sept. 29 and were able to agree to put a draft contract to a vote. We are recommending you vote to accept the agreement.
VOTE DETAILS
TIME: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14. Please vote during your non-work time, for example on your break.
LOCATION: Basement meeting room, Newport Harbour Care Centre, 10 Country Village Cove N.E., Calgary.
DETAILS OF PROPOSAL
An information package has been created that incudes details of the tentative agreement. You can find copies of this package in the staff room or by contacting a member of your negotiating team.
Please read these documents carefully. This is your opportunity to vote whether to accept or reject the agreement.
The draft agreement runs from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2024.
Wage increases:
- April 1, 2020: No increase.
- April 1, 2021: No increase.
- On ratification of agreement: 2.75%.
- April 1, 2023: 1.25%.
Signing bonuses:
- $1,000 for full-time employees.
- $500 for part-time employees.
- $250 for casual employees.
The draft agreement also includes a new flexible health-care benefits spending account, providing $300 per year for each regular employee to help pay for health and dental expenses.
VOTE RESULTS
The results of the vote will be announced on Oct. 14.
