His comments were part of today’s 3rd Quarter update for the 2018/2019 fiscal year.
Ceci told reporters, "We’ve also been able to keep our spending below population plus inflation."
But we know spending must at least keep up with inflation - the rising cost of living - and Alberta's population growth - the need to provide the same services for more people.
He also bragged about the deficit going down by $1.9 billion.
Most of us agree that lowering the deficit is a good thing. But no government should do so by making cuts or shortchanging workers.
By failing to keep up with population growth and inflation, that’s exactly what Joe Ceci and the government is doing.
