Your negotiating team met with Covenant Health on September 16, 17, and 19.
Covenant Health made no effort to address the important issues you raised through our bargaining survey. Nor did Covenant Health come prepared to answer our questions about your concerns.
The first two days of meetings were extremely difficult. Covenant Health was simply not interested in finding common ground to address issues.
Our third day of meetings started well, but the employer once again refused to offer any serious solutions or thoughtful counter-proposals.
We have now met with Covenant Health seven times and have nothing to show for it. We do not understand this drastic change at the bargaining table; the employer’s current representatives and their behavior bear no resemblance to their positions over the last decade of bargaining. Your team is frustrated but thankful for your continued support.
One thing is obvious: Covenant Health’s bargaining representatives do not identify with us. They have no appreciation or true understanding of the work we do and why we are fighting for better wages, benefits, and working conditions.
