Your negotiating team met with Covenant Health on October 28 and 29. We saw you wearing red these days, and your team appreciates your ongoing support. It is going to take all of us standing together to win what we deserve.
While we agreed with Covenant Health on a few Articles, they refuse to change your working conditions or do anything to help your work/life balance. We know these are important to you. Our bargaining survey results prove that we are unwilling to continue working this way.
This was our eighth meeting with Covenant Health. They continue to drag their feet on the important issues. They do not understand or appreciate the work we do. Your team is frustrated, but persistent. We must continue to fight for better benefits and working conditions.
Articles we approved
Article 11: Appointments and Transfer
Article 14: Salaries
Article 32: Casual Employees
Article 42: Resignation and Termination – changed from 28 days’ notice to 14 days’ notice.
Article 43: Employment Insurance Premium Reductions – instead of a yearly lump sum, it will now be paid on a biweekly basis.
Next bargaining meetings
Our next meetings are scheduled for November 14 and 15. Continue to wear red to support your negotiating team! If you take any photos of you and your coworkers, email them to photos@aupe.org so we can share the solidarity on social media.
Please contact a member of your negotiating team if you have any questions.
