Little progress made on non-monetary items
After exchanging proposals with the employer in January, your negotiating team continued bargaining your collective agreement with the employer on Mar. 2, 2022. While the tone was cordial, we received no indication that they are going to be moving off their ridiculous and insulting demands that would see us receive a reduction in our wages and four years of zero percent wage increases which is also, effectively, a pay cut when you consider inflation.
We were able, however, to sign off on some non-monetary items: Article 8; Article 20; and, LOU#4.
We have asked the Employer to provide dates to resume bargaining and they have indicated they will do so in the next couple of days. We will update you further after those meetings take place.
Remember that your collective agreement remains in full force and effect. If you feel that management is not adhering to the terms, please speak to a Union Steward or contact the Members Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284 and they will put you in touch with your Membership Services Officer.
