In our last update, your negotiating team shared that we had applied for informal mediation to help reach a deal at the bargaining table. Mediator Rick Wilson has been assigned, and we look forward to his assistance.
Mediation was scheduled to begin on November 18 and 19, but these sessions were cancelled because one of the employer representatives was ill. Mediation has been rescheduled for January 10.
Your negotiating team thanks you for your responses to our recent survey. Your input is crucial to the bargaining process, and we appreciate your contributions. Your negotiating team used the two free days as an opportunity to review your survey results, including how you feel about promotions and vacation issues. We plan to address these important issues at our January 10 meeting. We are exploring further dates to continue mediation.
Wear red to support bargaining
Wear red on January 10 to show your solidarity. Take a photo of you and your coworkers wearing red and send them to photos@aupe.org to be posted on AUPE’s social media.
