Negotiating team is finalizing monetary proposals
Your negotiating team would like to thank everyone who came to our member meetings. Your feedback is important and helps us keep bargaining going.
The last time your negotiating team met, we wanted to finalize our proposals for wages, benefits, and other monetary proposals to present to SPAN. However, the employer did not provide complete answers to the questions we previously sent them, so we could not finalize our proposals.
As a result, we spent our Feb. 7 meeting asking the employer questions that would help us create our final proposals, including questions about current hours of work and rest shifts. Your negotiating team now has most of the information it needs to move forward with our proposals.
Your team knows how important the Hours of Work article is for your first collective agreement. We will focus on creating this proposal and will update you when we have more to share.
Feb. wage increases
As you know, the employer gave out wage increases effective February 10, 2023. While wage increases are never a bad thing, the employer made this change without our consent, even though we were in negotiations on how to implement the change. We were told Team Leads would get 5% and everyone else would get 3%, but this did not happen.
Your team is taking action to address this and ensure wage adjustments are fair and negotiated properly.
