Negotiation dates set for January 2022

Text only block

Your negotiating team would like to thank all members who completed the recent bargaining survey.

Because of your responses, we now have a clear mandate on what you want to address as we negotiate a new collective agreement.

We will do everything we can to repair the strained relationship with management and improve your working conditions and the workplace culture.

Work on that has already begun. We have had a positive initial conversation with the employer and look forward to getting to the bargaining table in the New Year.

Meanwhile, please remember that your current collective agreement is in full force and effect as we negotiate a new contract. All your protections and entitlements continue to remain in place.

Bargaining dates have been scheduled for Jan. 12-14 and Jan. 26-27. We will have a better idea of where things stand after those five days of talks.

Please stay tuned to your emails and the AUPE website for further updates. Complex negotiations like these must be held behind closed doors and this means that not all details be made public immediately. However, we will keep you updated as the process unfolds.

Thanks for all the hard work you do. Please enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season.
