The Pensions Committee at the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees is happy to announce new dates for information sessions on the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP). The sessions will take place online.

We now have six more sessions available between October 19 and November 24, covering subjects like PSPP Basics, as well as Preparing for your Retirement and PSPP and Life Events

Click here learn more about the available sessions, and see what dates they will be held on.

These sessions are free, and members can receive 1.00 hour of paid time off for the duration of the webinars. No other expenses will be covered for the registered session.

We’re excited to keep organizing these sessions, because we see that AUPE members are interested in them. Since we moved the sessions online at the beginning of the pandemic, we have organized 21 online sessions for PSPP—including one in French—which 894 AUPE members participated in.

Pensions are important to AUPE members and their families. Alberta Pension Services (APSC) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) and the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP), both of which help secure many AUPE members for their retirement.
AUPE and PSPPC are committed to helping members learn about their pensions and plan for retirement.

Pensions are a complex topic, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to understand them. That’s why AUPE’s Pensions Committee organizes these sessions—because it gives you the power to understand what’s going on with your pension, and help you plan for your retirement.

Once you know which session you want to attend, you can sign up using AUPE’s internal registration system by clicking here. If you’re having any issues with registration, don’t hesitate to contact the registrar at registrar@aupe.org.
