AUPE’s Pension Committee is offering information sessions for members who belong to LAPP. AUPE and LAPP are committed to helping members learn about their pensions and plan for retirement.
There are 10 webinars you can sign up for. You can register by clicking here. Have your AUPE member number ready to register. If you don’t have your number, you can call the AUPE Members Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284.

Session summaries
- Get Ready to Start Your LAPP Pension includes information about how your pension is calculated, early retirement, retirement options, pension projection calculation, and the retirement application process.
- Increase Your LAPP Pension provides information about leaves of absence (purchased within the deadline), optional service, and payment options.
- Changes to Your Employment provides information about leaving LAPP (fewer than two years of LAPP membership), two or more years of membership (under age 55, age 55 or older, on or after your 65th birthday), death before retirement (fewer than two years of membership, two or more years of membership, pre-retirement death waiver), disability pensions.
Time off entitlement
Members can receive paid time off for the webinars:
- 1.5 hours for the webinars on Get Ready to Start Your LAPP Pension
- 1.0 hour for the webinars on Increase Your LAPP Pension
- 0.75 hours (45 mins) for the webinars on Changes to Your Employment.
No other expenses are covered.
