Millrise: Bargaining survey shows workload, wages are top concerns

Bargaining update for AUPE members at Millrise Seniors Village, Local 048 Chapter 034

Feb 19, 2025

Text only block

Your negotiating team would like to thank all the members who filled out our bargaining survey.

Your survey responses echoed what AUPE members are saying across the province – it's time for our employers to give us what we deserve.

You told us there is a lot of room for improvement in our collective agreement. We need to create a more fair, safe and healthy work environment – so that’s what we’re going to do.

But we can’t make it better without your participation. This is our union, and it’s our job to participate in it and keep it strong.

Completing the bargaining survey was an important step in identifying what issues we face at work, such as:

  • Heavy workloads and the negative impact on our health and safety
  • Low pay and benefits making it hard to make ends meet
  • Sick days and policy improvements

Next steps

Your negotiating team knows these are urgent issues. We will meet again soon to turn what you told us in the bargaining survey into our proposals for bargaining.

We will reach out to the employer to schedule meetings once our proposals are ready. Stay tuned to see how you can support us in bargaining.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like more information, please get in touch with your team.
