Bargaining Continues
Your bargaining team met with the employer on November 6, 7, and 8 to resume negotiations.
This was another productive round of meetings. We worked on a number of non-monetary proposals and signed off on three important Articles:
- Article 9 – Respectful Workplace
- Article 13 – Discipline and Dismissal
- Article 14 – Grievance and Arbitration
The changes made to these Articles would help protect you from abuse at work, clearly define harassment, sexual harassment, and bullying, and improve the grievance and discipline processes.
There is still a long road ahead, but we are happy with the progress we made with these Articles. Your bargaining team hopes negotiations will continue to be positive and productive moving forward.
Next Meetings
The next round of bargaining meetings is scheduled for December 10, 11, and 12.
Your bargaining team is dedicated to pursuing a collective agreement that treats all of us with the dignity, equity, and fairness we deserve. The employer needs to respect our needs and the needs of the residents we care for.
