Adding insult to injury, Good Sam requests another deadline extension

Update for Local 042, Good Samaritan Society Continuing Care

Instead of accepting the mediator’s recommendations to increase wages, they’ve now asked for another three business days to submit their response.

It’s unacceptable.

Your negotiating team is just as frustrated as you are. The employer has had years to do their research: at the bargaining table; over a month during mediation talks; and even a two-week extension to make the obvious choice to respect workers. But now, Good Sam has the audacity to ask for more time.

This is shameful and cowardly behaviour. It’s hurting workers and the residents.

Over the past few months, the membership has shown up for town hall meetings, numerous rallies, and swiftly organized a vote to ratify the recommendations across the province.

Worker power is driving our momentum and it's clearly backed Good Sam into a corner – we can’t let up now!

Your negotiating team isn’t going to stop until you get the contract you deserve so it’s time to turn up the heat on your employer.

**Stay tuned to find out how you can help your negotiating team fight back**
