CapitalCare Nursing Care: A slow but important day of bargaining

Bargaining update for Local 049, CapitalCare Nursing Care

Apr 15, 2025

Text only block

Your team met with CapitalCare on April 11 for bargaining.

Bargaining is moving very slowly. Your team is frustrated with this slow pace, and members are justified in feeling frustrated as well.

However, we had good discussions on some key proposals, including:

  • Article 11 - Appointments, Transfers and Promotions
  • Article 35 - Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness
  • Letter of Understanding 12 - Workload Appeal Process

Bargaining may be slow, but every meeting is important.

We wish we could make more progress, but a full day of sharing our proposals and talking about your needs is no waste of time. In fact, it is how we show the employer our point of view, which leads to progress at the bargaining table.

Our next meetings are June 4 and 6.

Wear red to support us! Take selfies and group pictures of you and your coworkers wearing red, then email those pictures to photos@aupe.org. We will use those pictures on social media to spread your solidarity.

Share this update with your coworkers. Even better, make sure you and your coworkers create a MyAUPE account.

Please contact your negotiating team if you have any questions.
