Next step is formal mediation
Your negotiating team met with the employer on April 20 and 21 to continue to discuss monetary items. The employer’s offer is well beneath what you deserve, and your bargaining committee does not endorse any of it.
The employer offered:
- 2020 - 0%
- 2021 - 0%
- 2022 - 1.25%
- 2023 - 1.25%
The employer still refuses to compensate you with a lump sum for working through COVID-19 and refuses to recognize your work properly. The employer is also refusing to give members a paid day off for the National Truth and Reconciliation Day or include any other monetary improvements to the collective agreement.
Your negotiating team will be in touch with you about future meetings to speak with members and hear what you want and what you think you deserve. After working through the pandemic, members of Bethany Nursing Home of Camrose deserve to have monetary increases that reflect the incredibly hard work you’ve done since 2020.
The next step with the employer is to get an essential service agreement and then we will go to formal mediation.
Please contact a member of your negotiating team if you have any questions. Make sure you receive the latest bargaining updates and union news by signing up at www.aupe.org/update-info
