Bargaining has begun for all AUPE members employed by Edmonton Catholic Schools. Our negotiating committee met with the employer on Oct. 7, 14, and Nov. 9.
Our proposals at the bargaining table have been informed by the survey that members completed over the summer, and we would like to congratulate our co-workers who completed the survey for taking the time to fill it out.
So far, the employer has only submitted its non-monetary package of proposals. We submitted the full package on Oct. 7.
We Won’t Accept Rollbacks
We know Jason Kenney and the UCP is pressuring school boards across Alberta to extract wage cuts from workers.
We also know that, in the middle of a pandemic, our work is more important than ever. We’re the ones who make sure schools are cleaned and in good working order for all students and staff.

That’s why we’re launching a petition for AUPE members at Edmonton Catholic Schools. We want to proactively call on our employer to recognize the value of our work and negotiate accordingly.
