AUPE Local 050 members have voted in favour of ratifying the tentative agreement reached with Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis last month.
In addition to improvements for shift and weekend differentials, your new collective agreement adds two additional special leave days and expands the definition of immediate family. It also adds up to five days paid leave for workers dealing with domestic violence.
A new Respectful Workplace article sets out a formal process for dealing with harassment complaints and a new Letter of Understanding entrenches the Health Spending Account in the collective agreement. A separate Letter of Understanding ensures that the Employer must consult with the Union prior to making any changes to health benefit plans.
Salaries are the same as other government agencies: 0% for August 1, 2017; 0% for August 1, 2018; and a wage re-opener for August 1, 2019. The agreement sets out that negotiations for the wage re-opener have to start prior to January 31, 2020.
