AUPE President Guy Smith will address Convention at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 26. Media is invited to attend.

Smith is also available for in-person media interviews at approximately 12:15 p.m. following his Convention address on the 26th.

Over 1,000 union activists will meet at Convention to debate union business and strengthen their solidarity ahead of a historic year of collective bargaining. Delegates will also elect the union’s executive leadership, including its President, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, and six (6) Vice-Presidents.

“Over 81,000 AUPE members will enter negotiations with their employers in 2024,” says Smith. “The work we do at Convention is imperative to our success at the bargaining table—to improve the lives of our members who proudly serve this province.

“I am excited to join our delegates for what will surely be an empowering Convention. As our Convention theme states, union power starts with us all.”
