Keep an eye on your paychecks

Bargaining Update: Town of Ponoka—Local 118, Chapter 004, All Staff

Text only block

Good news for AUPE members at the Town of Ponoka: we can expect an additional lump sum payment of retroactive pay on our August 12 paychecks.

Because we voted to ratify our new collective agreement on June 21, we are all entitled to the retroactive pay increase of 1.75 per cent on all hours worked from Jan. 1 2022 until July 12, 2022, the date of ratification. The employer will be adding that retro pay as a lump sum to our paychecks on August 12.

The sum should cover all hours worked since Jan. 1 of this year—so make sure to look over the pay stub and make sure that all of your hours are covered. If there are any discrepancies, make sure to reach out to your Membership Services Officer (MSO) right away. You can contact your MSO directly, or you can call AUPE’s Member Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284. It’s open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day.

Once again, your negotiating team wants to thank you for sticking through this difficult round of bargaining. We hope that this retro pay will serve as a reminder that we are stronger when we are united.
