800 educational support workers in Calgary have given strike notice. These CUPE members are showing their strength with a rally on Monday, Feb. 24.

AUPE members who live and work in Calgary are invited to join them! Please show your solidarity on your non-work time.

CUPE Calgary Rally
Monday, Feb. 24
7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
McDougall Centre, 455 6 St S.W., Calgary.

Background information

These educational support workers are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). They are employed by the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District.

They join about 4,000 CUPE members who are already on strike in Edmonton, Fort McMurray and Sturgeon County. They have been on strike since the beginning of January and need your support.

CUPE members have also taken strike votes at the Black Gold School Division, the Foothills School Division and the Parkland School Division.

When AUPE members show solidarity with other workers across Alberta, it shows our own employers how serious we are about improving our wages and working conditions.
