Monetary negotiations to begin at the next session
Your negotiating team is happy to report that good progress was made over the prior two bargaining sessions held on January 24 and 25. As shared in the last bargaining update, your team made the decision to focus on non-monetary items to start and found the approach to have productive results. We have agreed to the following articles:
Preamble
- 3 - Application (this means who does the agreement apply to – but does not list specific classifications)
- 5 - Payment of Dues (reminder, dues are not paid until the collective agreement negotiations are complete and the agreement is ratified)
- 7 - Time Off for Union Business
- 8 - Management Rights
- 9 - No Discrimination/Respect in the Workplace
- 10 - Discipline and Dismissal
- 14 - Probationary Period
- 15 - Personnel Files
- 24 - Resignation
- 28 - Workers Compensation
Bargaining will resume on February 7, at which point we will begin monetary negotiations. We intend to table a comprehensive package at that time.
It is very important that all members can understand and engage in the bargaining process. To ensure all members are aware of progress and have the opportunity to ask questions, your negotiating team will be hosting member meetings on February 6. You can join us at:
- 8:00 A.M. via Zoom (meeting link and details below)
- 8:00 P.M. in person at The Landing Hotel & Conference Centre (4902 39 St, St. Paul)
