Negotiations on new collective agreement also delayed until Sept. 1
AUPE and the Government of Alberta (GOA) have agreed to extend job protection for permanent employees as the province continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed yesterday (Wednesday, June 10) that extends job-security provisions until Sept. 1. The agreement also delays bargaining for a new collective agreement until Sept. 1.
The new memorandum is similar to the agreement signed at the end of March that delayed bargaining and extended job security until the end of June.
Albertans are still facing a health and financial crisis. GOA workers need to continue to focus on helping Albertans.
