FIRST CONTRACTS: BARGAINING STALLED
At bargaining meetings on Aug. 16 and 17 for Stettler and Aug. 23 and 24 for Slave Lake, the employer refused to table a counter-proposal to AUPE’s proposals and maintained their current proposals as their final offers. As a result, bargaining broke off and two possible directions are now in view: the negotiation of an Essential Services Agreement (ESA) or application for a third-party arbitrator to impose a settlement.
