Covenant Health GSS members agree to delay bargaining
Your negotiating team has accepted the employer’s offer to extend the delay in bargaining until June 30, 2021 in exchange for continued job protections.
While many of you are eager to get back to bargaining to deal with the numerous issues you identified in the Bargaining Survey last year, the threat of job cuts due to contracting-out and privatization remains.
The negotiating team considered that continued job security is front of mind for many of you. A continued delay in bargaining allows members the chance to continue to do the important work you do while your negotiating team develops a strategy to extend your job security beyond June 30, 2021.
Keep in mind that your collective agreement remain in full force, as does the employer’s obligation to abide by it.
