Alberta seniors, care workers and their families are all feeling the pressure in different ways – from staffing pressures to access to affordable and quality of care.
The government's new plans for our health care system excludes defined hours of direct care for Albertans in Continuing Care. Instead, they only mention a certain number of hours per care facility. This removes all accountability or responsibility of the government and care providers to provide the quality care residents deserve.
Instead of improving access to affordable seniors' care and increasing staffing levels, the government is just creating more problems.
It’s time to Strike a Change and improve seniors’ care.

AUPE’s Women’s Committee will provide a campaign update at its 21st Annual Grandparents Day BBQ on the Alberta Legislature grounds, Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
This Grandparents Day, let’s support Alberta’s seniors and the workers who care for them. Working conditions are care conditions. We need your help to keep the pressure on the government to improve seniors’ care.
Thank you for your support and participation!
