Your negotiating team met the employer on March 13 to continue bargaining. We were able to make progress, but the session was not as productive as we expected it to be. We did not finalize as many articles as we’d hoped, largely because the employer did not offer written responses to our proposals. In the one instance that we were provided a written counterproposal, we approached an agreement that includes a formalized Employee Management Committee.
The employer did, however, provide useful data in response to our earlier requests. After reviewing the data, we found that it supports our position on multiple items. In particular, it backs our proposals on the posting of vacancies and special leaves.
The employer also offered clarity on which proposals they consider monetary, and which are non-monetary. Now that we have this information, we plan to wrap up our initial non-monetary presentation by April with the full expectation that the employer will respond promptly. We are prepared to begin bargaining for the improved wages and benefits we deserve.
