Your negotiating team met with Optima Aspen Ridge on March 19 and 20 to continue bargaining.
We want to thank everyone who participated in direct action during this round of bargaining. These actions show our employer that we are determined to fight for the wages and benefits we deserve.
Unfortunately, the employer refuses to get the message. They did not agree to a tentative agreement at our last meetings. This means we are now at a critical stage in bargaining, and we need your support more than ever.

Other issues
We are waiting for Optima to share an update about some wages not matching what is in the collective agreement. They did not know the reason for the error but told us that no money would be clawed back from affected members.
We are also waiting for the outcome of Optima’s investigation into members being denied benefits. Several part-time employees who work between 10 and 20 hours a week have been denied their benefits––which violates the collective agreement.
