Local 071, Red Deer
Vice President Bobby-Joe Borodey (she/her) was first elected in 2019 and served a second term in 2021. She was re-elected in the 2023 Convention.
On leave from her position as a Students Services Officer at Olds College, Borodey has been a proud member of Local 071 Chapter 002 for over 20 years. She began her union activism at a conference with the AUPE Young Activists committee and hasn't looked back, going on to serve as a shop steward, on her area council, local and chapter boards, and multiple terms on the Provincial Executive.
She believes in the power of organized, educated, and motivated members, and is passionate about working collectively towards real solutions to the problems workers face every day.
Vice President Borodey is Chair of AUPE’s Standing Committee on Human Rights and Legislative Committee.
