You’ve worked hard, now it’s time to have some fun with friends

No matter who your employer, the last two-and-a-half years have been tough on workers.

The COVID-19 pandemic, staff shortages, physical exhaustion, mental burn-out – that’s what AUPE members everywhere are reporting.

Sometimes, we need to turn to our friends and colleagues for support, to share some good times to counter the stresses we all face.

That’s why AUPE has Area Councils. These are groups of union volunteers who organize and run family-oriented union events throughout the year.

If you’re a member who lives in the Fort Saskatchewan area, please attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of your area council on Oct. 5.

Maybe you can find a group of volunteers and figure out a fun way to support each other. Maybe a BBQ or a visit to a zoo. Maybe something fun for families over the holiday season.

It’s friends and families who get us through tough times. As part of AUPE, you’re a member of a community of more than 95,000. Let’s look to each other for support and for fun. We deserve it.
